I was just reading your blog description and you are sooo right!! I think that I am going to join you on this journey. It will be tough with some designers, but I have enough to stitch until my youngest graduates college...she has 3 years of high school left plus 8 years to be vet!! What does that tell ya?! LOL I love some designers, but I think I will leave my wants for Mothers' Day, birthday, and Christmas. Oh,oh, Valentines' Day, Sweetest Day, Anniversary...jump in! LOL

Why Frugal Stitching?

It's a tough world out there right now. So many of us are either unemployed or underemployed, and so our discretionary dollars must go farther than ever before. But how do we continue to do what we love when we're facing these financial obstacles? Maybe we should just give up our hobby until times get better.

NO! Don't give up, just stitch frugally! First, gather up all that stash that's squirreled away in your home. Track down every chart, every bobin and skein of floss, and every scrap of fabric. Don't forget any of the finishing supplies you come across, either. You're going to need them when you finish stitching!

Next--dig out that basket of WIPs, empty out that drawer of UFOs. Put them together with all that stash you just gathered together. Take a good look at it.

I'll bet you--like me--have enough WIPs, UFOs, and stash to carry you through the year. Sure, we might end up needing some floss, or maybe a few finishing materials, or some beads, just to finish a project. But I'm betting that if I'm careful I'll be able to get through the year without spending very much money on my stitching hobby.
